Products & Categories
What types of seating does DuraCare offer?
The line includes aluminum wood-grain dining chairs, resident room chairs, bar stools, side chairs, bariatric chairs, and settees/sofas, plus aluminum and steel powder coat chairs, table bases, and laminate and 3D thermolaminate table tops.
How many products are in the DuraCare catalog?
The Digital Showroom currently features roughly 190 products across 11 categories, with the aluminum wood-grain dining chair collection being the largest at over 100 models.
What are resident room chairs?
Resident room chairs are fully upholstered lounge-style chairs designed for private rooms in senior living communities. They offer residential comfort with commercial-grade welded aluminum frames and healthcare-appropriate fabrics.
Does DuraCare make bariatric seating?
Yes. DuraCare offers aluminum wood-grain bariatric chairs engineered with wider seats and reinforced welded frames to safely support higher weight capacities.
Does DuraCare offer bar stools and counter-height seating?
Yes. The aluminum wood-grain bar stool collection includes more than a dozen models that match the dining chair line, so bistro and pub areas can coordinate with the dining room.
Does DuraCare offer sofas and settees?
Yes. The aluminum wood-grain settee and sofa collection provides lounge and lobby seating that matches the chair collections, built on the same welded aluminum frame platform.
Does DuraCare sell tables?
DuraCare offers table bases along with laminate and 3D thermolaminate table tops, allowing you to pair durable dining tables with the seating collections.
What are 3D thermolaminate table tops?
3D thermolaminate tops are made by thermoforming a durable laminate skin over a contoured core, producing a seamless, water-resistant surface with softened edges — ideal for senior dining where hygiene and durability matter.
What is the difference between wood-grain and powder coat chairs?
Wood-grain chairs have aluminum frames finished to look like real wood, while powder coat chairs (aluminum or steel) have solid-color baked finishes. Both use welded construction; the choice is primarily aesthetic and budget-driven.
What do the style numbers like AC-504 mean?
Each DuraCare model carries a style code (for example AC-504 for the Sloan resident room chair). Use this code on spec sheets, quotes, and purchase orders to identify the exact frame.
Construction & Durability
How are DuraCare chair frames constructed?
Frames are all-welded aluminum with no screws or hinges that can loosen over time. This one-piece construction is the foundation of the product's longevity and its 12-year frame warranty.
Why is aluminum better than wood for senior living furniture?
Aluminum frames are lighter than wood for easier repositioning, will not crack or loosen at the joints, resist scratches and moisture, and stand up to commercial cleaning chemicals — all while the wood-grain finish preserves a warm residential look.
Are DuraCare chairs scratch resistant?
Yes. The wood-grain and powder coat finishes are highly scratch resistant and are designed to withstand daily commercial use, cart bumps, and frequent cleaning.
Can DuraCare furniture be used outdoors?
The aluminum frames are highly weather resistant, making select models suitable for covered outdoor and patio areas. Ask your DuraCare representative about the best fabric choices for outdoor exposure.
How much weight can DuraCare chairs support?
Standard chairs are engineered for demanding commercial use, and dedicated bariatric models support higher weight capacities. Each product's spec sheet lists its rated weight capacity.
Are the chairs heavy to move?
No. Aluminum construction makes DuraCare chairs significantly lighter than comparable wood chairs, which residents and staff appreciate when pulling chairs in and out at mealtimes.
Do DuraCare chairs squeak or loosen over time?
Because frames are fully welded with no mechanical fasteners, there are no screws or hinges to work loose — eliminating the wobble and squeaks common in wood-frame chairs after years of use.
Will the wood-grain finish fade or wear off?
The wood-grain finish is a durable coating engineered for commercial life and is highly scratch and weather resistant. It is covered against manufacturing defects under the frame warranty.
Are the chairs stackable?
Select models are designed for stacking and easy storage. Check the individual product page or spec sheet, or ask your representative about stackable options for your project.
What glide options are available for chair legs?
DuraCare offers five leg glide options in the configurator, so you can match the glide to your flooring — protecting carpet, vinyl, tile, or wood floors while letting chairs slide smoothly.
Fabrics & Upholstery
Which fabrics are shown in the Digital Showroom?
The public fabric gallery includes Culp Contract and Momentum collections, with Fabric, Vinyl, and Crypton Fabric colorways available in the configurator.
Which fabric brands are available?
The public showroom currently displays Culp Contract while additional graded-in fabric programs are reviewed for future release.
What performance fabric options are available?
The Culp Contract and Momentum collections include Fabric, Vinyl, and Crypton Fabric options. Available cleaning, abrasion, flammability, and composition details appear on each fabric page.
What is a fabric cleaning code?
Cleaning codes tell staff how a fabric may be cleaned: W (water-based cleaners), S (solvent), WS (either), or X (vacuum only). Each fabric's detail page in the showroom lists its cleaning code when available.
What does the abrasion rating (double rubs) mean?
Abrasion is tested in "double rubs" — how many back-and-forth cycles a fabric endures before wear. Contract furniture typically calls for 30,000+ double rubs; many DuraCare fabrics exceed 100,000, indicating heavy-duty performance.
What is California TB 117 compliance?
California Technical Bulletin 117 is a flammability standard for upholstered furniture components. Fabric detail pages in the showroom indicate TB 117 compliance where the manufacturer provides it.
Can I order fabric samples before purchasing?
Yes. You can request physical fabric samples through the Digital Showroom's sample request feature so you can evaluate color and texture in your own lighting before committing.
Can I use my own fabric (COM)?
Customer's Own Material is a common request in contract furniture. Contact DuraCare with your fabric details and the model you're specifying, and the team will confirm yardage requirements and suitability.
Can the seat and back be upholstered in different fabrics?
Yes. Two-fabric combinations — for example a patterned back with a vinyl seat for cleanability — are a popular specification in senior dining. The configurator supports selecting a separate back fabric on supported models.
How do I choose the right fabric for memory care?
For memory care, designers typically choose high-contrast, non-glare solids or subtle patterns with moisture-barrier vinyl or high-performance fabrics rated for appropriate cleaning. Use the Type and Grade filters, then review each fabric's listed specifications.
Frame Finishes
How many frame finishes are available?
DuraCare offers 29 frame finishes, ranging from realistic wood tones like American Walnut, Golden Oak, and Royal Cherry to contemporary metallics and solids like Matte Black, Silver, and Slate.
What wood-tone finishes can I choose from?
Popular wood tones include American Walnut, Dark Walnut, Dark Mahogany, Espresso Walnut, Golden Oak, Light Oak, Harvest Maple, Natural Maple, Mid Cherry, Royal Cherry, Hickory, English Pine, Light Teak, and White Ash.
Do you offer non-wood metallic or solid finishes?
Yes. Contemporary options include Matte Black, Silver, Silvervein, Goldvein, Coppervein, Metallic Rust, Mirror Blue, Slate, Classic Gray, and more.
Can I see a finish on a chair before ordering?
Yes. The 3D configurator applies your chosen finish to the chair model in real time, and the finish gallery shows actual swatch photography for every finish.
Do all chairs come in all 29 finishes?
Most aluminum wood-grain models can be ordered in any of the available finishes. Your quote will confirm finish availability for the specific models in your project.
Will the finish match real wood furniture already in our facility?
The wood-grain process is designed to convincingly replicate natural wood. Ordering a finish sample or comparing swatch photos against your existing casegoods is the best way to confirm a match.
How do I clean and maintain the frame finish?
Frames clean easily with mild soap and water or standard commercial cleaners. Unlike real wood, no polishing, refinishing, or special care is required.
Can different finishes be mixed in one order?
Yes. Many communities mix finishes across dining rooms, bistros, and resident rooms. Each line item on your quote can specify its own finish.
Are finish samples available?
Yes. Contact DuraCare or use the sample request feature to obtain finish samples so you can evaluate them alongside your flooring and millwork.
Is the finish covered by the warranty?
The 12-year frame warranty covers manufacturing defects in the frame, including finish adhesion issues under normal commercial use. Normal wear from abuse or improper cleaning is excluded.
Using the 3D Configurator
What can I do in the 3D configurator?
You can rotate a photorealistic 3D model of the chair, apply Culp Contract fabrics and 29 finishes, choose leg glides on supported models, then save, share, or download a spec sheet of your exact configuration.
Do all products have interactive 3D models?
A growing set of best-selling models have full 3D configurators (marked with a 3D badge), and more are converted regularly. Products without a 3D model still support fabric and finish selection with photography.
How do I switch chairs while keeping my fabric and finish?
Tap the chair name at the top of the configurator to open the chair switcher. When you pick a different model, your current fabric and finish selections carry over automatically.
Can I save my configurations?
Yes. Sign in and use the Save button in the configurator. Saved configurations are stored in your account so you can return to them, compare options, or attach them to quote requests.
How do I share a configuration with a colleague or client?
Use the Share button to copy a link that reproduces your exact chair, fabric, and finish. Anyone opening the link sees the same configuration without needing an account.
What arm style options are available?
Supported models offer four arm style options in the configurator, letting you tailor the chair's profile and assistive function to your residents' needs.
Why do fabric colors look different on my screen?
Screen calibration varies between devices. For final color decisions we always recommend ordering physical fabric and finish samples through the showroom.
Does the configurator work on phones and tablets?
Yes. The Digital Showroom is fully responsive, and the 3D viewer works on modern mobile browsers, so you can configure chairs during walkthroughs and client meetings.
What is the difference between photo view and 3D view?
Photo view shows professional photography of the product in a standard configuration, while 3D view renders an interactive model with your actual fabric and finish applied. Frame finish changes are visible only in 3D view.
Can I compare the same fabric on different chairs?
Yes. Pick your fabric and finish on one chair, then use the chair switcher to jump between models — your selections follow you, making side-by-side comparisons quick.
Spec Sheets & Documentation
How do I get a spec sheet for a configured chair?
Click the Spec Sheet button in the configurator. A branded PDF is generated on the spot with your exact fabric, finish, options, dimensions, and warranty details — ready to file with your project documents.
Are spec sheets pre-made or custom generated?
They are generated in real time from your configuration. Two buyers configuring the same chair with different fabrics receive different PDFs, each reflecting their own selections.
What information appears on the spec sheet?
Spec sheets include the model name and style number, category, dimensions (seat height, depth, width, overall height), weight capacity, warranty, your selected fabric with technical specs, frame finish, and any arm or glide options.
Can I get the original factory spec sheet PDF?
Yes. Original factory spec sheets from DuraCare are linked on product pages where available, alongside the custom configured spec sheets the showroom generates.
Where can I find fabric technical specifications?
Each fabric detail page lists available specs such as composition, cleaning code, abrasion rating, width, repeat, flammability compliance, and end-use recommendations, plus a downloadable PDF spec sheet.
Do you provide CAD or Revit files?
Many DuraCare models have RFA (Revit family) files from the factory. Contact your representative for BIM assets for your specified models.
Can I download dimensions for space planning?
Yes. Every product page and generated spec sheet lists seat height, seat depth, seat width, and overall height so your team can plan dining rooms and resident rooms accurately.
How current is the product information in the showroom?
The Digital Showroom is synchronized with DuraCare's official catalog, including products, fabric programs, and finish galleries, and is updated as the factory line evolves.
Can I print my configuration for a design board?
Yes. The generated spec sheet PDF prints cleanly on letter-size paper and includes an image of the product, making it presentation-board ready.
Is there documentation of flammability compliance for fabrics?
Where manufacturers publish it, fabric pages note California TB 117 compliance and UFAC class. For formal compliance certificates, request documentation through your DuraCare representative.
Quotes & Ordering
How do I get pricing for DuraCare furniture?
Submit a quote request through the Digital Showroom with your configured products and quantities, or call 888.592.1102. Contract furniture pricing is project-based, so quotes reflect your quantities and specifications.
Why aren't prices listed on the website?
Like most contract furniture, DuraCare pricing depends on quantities, fabric grades, options, and project scope. Requesting a quote ensures you receive accurate pricing rather than misleading list prices.
What is the minimum order quantity?
DuraCare serves projects of all sizes, from a handful of resident room chairs to full community installations. Share your requirements in a quote request and the team will confirm details.
How do fabric grades affect price?
Graded-in fabrics are grouped into price grades; a higher-grade fabric raises the upholstered price of the chair. Your quote will reflect the grade of each fabric you select.
Can I attach my saved configurations to a quote request?
Yes. The quote form lets you reference your configured products, so the DuraCare team sees your exact model, fabric, finish, and options when preparing pricing.
How long does it take to receive a quote?
Quote requests are typically answered within a few business days. Complex projects with COM fabrics or custom requirements may take slightly longer.
What are typical lead times for orders?
Lead times vary with order size, fabric availability, and factory schedule. Your quote or order confirmation will include the current lead time for your specific project.
Can I track my quotes in the showroom?
Yes. Signed-in users can view their submitted quote and spec sheet requests under My Quotes in their account area.
Do you ship nationwide?
Yes. DuraCare ships throughout the United States from its Chicago-area operations. Freight details are confirmed with your quote.
Can I reorder chairs to match a previous purchase?
Yes. Provide your previous style numbers, fabric, and finish — or reference your saved configuration — and DuraCare can match earlier orders so additions blend seamlessly.
Warranty & Care
What warranty comes with DuraCare chairs?
DuraCare frames carry a 12-year guaranteed frame warranty, reflecting the confidence that comes with all-welded aluminum construction.
What does the 12-year frame warranty cover?
It covers structural defects in the welded frame under normal commercial use — the joints, welds, and frame integrity. Upholstery fabrics are covered by their individual manufacturers' warranties.
Are fabrics covered under warranty?
Upholstery fabrics carry their own manufacturer warranties, which vary by brand and grade. Abrasion ratings and cleaning codes on each fabric page help you choose fabrics matched to your usage.
How do I clean DuraCare chairs?
Frames wipe clean with mild soap and water or standard commercial cleaners. Fabric care follows each fabric's cleaning code (W, S, WS, or X), listed on its detail page.
Can the chairs be cleaned with commercial disinfectants?
Aluminum frames tolerate standard disinfectants well. For upholstery, review the manufacturer cleaning code and specifications for the selected Vinyl or Crypton Fabric before using bleach or disinfectant products.
What should I do if a chair is damaged in shipping?
Note any damage on the delivery receipt and contact DuraCare right away at 888.592.1102 with photos. The team will arrange repair or replacement.
Can chairs be reupholstered later?
Yes. Because the welded frames outlast most fabrics, reupholstering DuraCare chairs after years of service is common and cost-effective compared to replacement.
How long should DuraCare chairs last?
With welded aluminum frames warrantied for 12 years and no joints to loosen, DuraCare chairs routinely serve well beyond a decade in daily commercial use.
Do I need to tighten or maintain the frames?
No routine tightening is needed — there are no screws or bolts in the welded frame. Periodic cleaning is the only maintenance required.
How do I make a warranty claim?
Contact DuraCare at 888.592.1102 with your original order details, style number, and photos of the issue. The team will process the claim under the applicable warranty.
Senior Living & Healthcare
Why is DuraCare seating popular in senior living communities?
It delivers the warm, residential wood look residents and families expect, with the durability, light weight, cleanability, and safety that operations teams need — backed by a 12-year frame warranty.
Which chairs work best for memory care?
Sturdy armchairs with easy-grip arms, stable non-tip frames, and moisture-resistant, easy-clean upholstery are the standard choice. The showroom tags products suited for memory care environments.
What seat height is best for elderly residents?
Most senior dining chairs are specified with seat heights around 19–20 inches, which makes sitting down and standing up easier. Exact seat heights are listed on every product page and spec sheet.
Why do arms matter on senior dining chairs?
Armrests give residents leverage when sitting and standing, reducing fall risk. DuraCare offers multiple arm styles so you can balance assistive function with table clearance.
Are DuraCare chairs safe for residents who lean on them?
Yes. The all-welded aluminum frames are engineered for the real-world demands of senior environments, including residents using chairs for support while moving around the dining room.
How does lightweight furniture help caregivers?
Lighter chairs are easier for staff to reposition for wheelchair access, cleaning, and events — reducing strain injuries and speeding daily room turnover.
Can chairs be specified with moisture-barrier seats?
Yes. Healthcare vinyls and fabrics with moisture barriers are widely available in the fabric program, protecting foam and frames in incontinence-prone settings.
Do you offer coordinated furniture across dining, bistro, and resident rooms?
Yes. The dining, bar stool, side chair, settee, and resident room collections share finishes and fabric programs so an entire community can be coordinated from one source.
What flooring considerations affect chair selection?
Choose leg glides matched to your flooring — felt or nylon glides for hard surfaces, and glides designed for carpet elsewhere. Five glide options are available in the configurator.
Can DuraCare help with large community refurbishments?
Yes. With 60+ years of manufacturing experience and a catalog spanning dining through resident rooms, DuraCare regularly supplies full-community projects. Start with a quote request describing your scope.
